It has been 12 long years that KSSM is sharing pains and blissful moments of marginalized workers in Ahmedabad. The organisational set up followed later by the activities with voiceless people way back in 1992. it was a challenge to unite the people who were viciously suppressed by the upper caste and powerful people. However, consistent efforts of the organisation led to some success stories.

 

KSSM has consistently has taken up the issue of occupational health  hazard of Textile Workers, Safai Kamdar specifically from Dalit Community. 

 

Gujarat is home for 1.5 million children working in adverse conditions. 5000 marginalised sewerage workers in Gujarat are experiencing inhuman living conditions. Their children are mostly out of school and engaged in picking plastic waste on the road side. No social package or scheme cover this section of the society. No policy offer any opportunity for these workers and their families. No measures are available to strengthen their union. In the context of work that needs to be done, whatever has happened is just a beginning.
